A team of researchers from the Australian Defence Force Academy demonstrated a novel technology for Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV) to senior members of staff from the Australian and Canadian Defence Forces. The Technology, under development, enables rotary UAV's to land on moving platforms, such as ship decks and can be used to provide feedback to helicopter pilots in difficult landing situations (at night, or in dusy conditions) or when landing helicopters on moving ship deck.
